David ‘Pap’ H. Rapp Sr.

David "Pap" H. Rapp Sr., 75, of 1093 Kings Way, Town of Rome, died early Sunday morning, March 27, 2011 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Pastor Fred Parker Jr. and Rev. Jonathan Jenks will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Branch Cemetery in the town of Rome, Adams County.

David was born September 22, 1935, in West Virginia to Elmer and Margaret (Ramsey) Rapp. He married Geneva Jackson on September 21, 1957, in Summersville, West Virginia.

David served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years; from 1954 to 1974. After retiring from the Air Force, he and Geneva moved to Wisconsin Rapids and started Rapp’s Moving-North American Van Lines.

David had a variety of interests including hunting and fishing, bowling, shooting pool and snowmobiling. He was a member of Wisconsin Rapids VFW. For years he captained the Rapp’s Moving and Storage bowling team in the Tuesday night Transportation League.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva; two children: David "Butch" (Holly) Rapp Jr. of Waukesha and Kimberlee (Douglas) Kenowski of Port Edwards; four grandchildren: Jesse and Jacob Kenowski, Amber (Jay Rahn) Rapp and Alec Rapp; and two sisters: Linda (Billy) Mick of Weston, West Virginia and Marilyn (Blair) Savage of Hendersonville, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Daniel, and one sister, Lois Rufenach.

Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home of Wisconsin Rapids assisted the family with arrangements.
