Ramona Irene Galitz

Feb. 14, 1933 - April 30, 2011

Ramona Irene Galitz, a longtime Waukesha resident, was reunited with her loving husband of 42 years, the late Rev. Robert Galitz, on Saturday, April 30, 2011.

Ramona was born in New Rockford, N.D., on Feb.14, 1933, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Carmen (nee Anderson) Austin. Ramona was a graduate of Trinity Nursing School in Minot, N.D., and was a registered nurse at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Waukesha Sunrise Rotary Club and the Fox River Congregational Church in Pewaukee.

Ramona is survived by her daughters, Deborah (William) Cosgrove of Blue Springs, Mo., and Rebecca (Tom) Calder of Pewaukee; a son, Robert Galitz of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Marjorie Austin of St. Cloud, Minn.; and grandchildren, Bradley and Courtney Calder. She is further survived by other loving relatives, friends and neighbors.

Ramona was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Lloyd and Carmen Austin; brothers, James Austin, Capt. Kenneth Austin and Wayne Austin; sister, Sharon Haugen; and grandson, Christopher Austin Cosgrove.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Friday, May 6, at Fox River Congregational Church, N34-W23575 Capitol Drive, Pewaukee. A reception will follow the service at the church. A private interment will be held at Our Savior's United Church Cemetery in Germantown.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thanks to the caring nurses and staff of ProHealth Home Care Hospice for their care and compassion given to our mother.
