Eleanor M. Rose (nee Zick), 94, a Naperville, Ill., resident since 2006, and longtime resident of Waukesha, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at her home in Naperville. She was born Nov. 13, 1916, in Waukesha.
She was the beloved wife of the late Russell J. Rose, whom she married April 9, 1938; loving mother of James R. (Karen Van Iten) Rose of Naperville, Michael J. (Jan) Rose of Garland, Texas, and the late Cynthia Rose; adored grandmother of Kevin (Wendy) Rose, Derek (Stephanie) Rose and John (Lee) Rose; cherished great-grandmother of Tyler, Jacob and Caleb, Rylee, Regan and Wyatt; devoted daughter of the late Michael and Emma Zick; dear sister of Fritize (the late Carol) Bischel of Dousman and the late Ed, Lucille, Matt, Sherb and Jeanette; loving mother-in-law of the late Linda Rose; and fond aunt of many.
Eleanor grew up in Waukesha, was a 1934 graduate of Waukesha High School and worked for 17 years at Estberg Jewelry Store in Waukesha. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Waukesha and was a member of Women’s Club of Waukesha. Eleanor enjoyed cooking, baking and playing bridge. Most recently, Eleanor was a resident of Independence Village in Naperville.
Memorial services will take place at a later date at First Presbyterian Church of Waukesha, 810 N. East Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186-4885 (phone: 542-4243). Inurnment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.
