Gordon I. Pearson

Gordon I. Pearson of Waukesha died peacefully Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 85. He was born Aug. 31, 1925, a son of Carl and Elizabeth Pearson.

Gordon married Lois Risner on Aug. 30, 1947. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. After the war, Gordon began his career working alongside his father installing lumber dry kilns. An entrepreneur at heart, Gordon owned and operated two service stations and then became an electrical apprentice in Marinette. Having become a salesman for several electrical distributors, Gordon found his calling. Together with his family, he became founder and owner of State Wide Lighting, Inc., and Professional Systems, Inc.

Gordon enjoyed bowling, boating, golfing and spending time at his home on Nagawicka Lake in Hartland and at his homes in Florida and Arizona.

Gordon was a member of the Wisconsin Association of Professional Engineers, VFW Soat-Vergenz Post 721, a life member of American Legion Post 399 Okauchee and Elks Lodge 400 in Waukesha.

Gordon leaves to cherish his memory his son, Dean C. (Nancy) Pearson of Brookfield; daughter, Patti E. Pearson of Waukesha; grandchildren, Lynn (Brian) Ergish, Eric Pearson, Joshua Davies and Jamie Davies; and sister, Anita Sebero. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, parents, one sister and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the 3:45 p.m. VFW Soat-Vergenz Post 721 memorial service followed by military honors Friday, May 13, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha.
