William
L. "Bill" Turkoski of Rockledge, Fla., passed away Friday, May
6, 2011, at Rockledge Hospice at the age of 84. He was born in Waukesha to
William and Agnes (Lamp) Turkoski.
He will be missed by his daughter, Carrie of Rockledge;
his son, Dr. William Steve (Leenie) of Slocum, Ala.; grandchildren,
William (Billy) Turkoski, an E-8 with the Marine Corp in San Diego, Tricia
Turkoski from Athens, Ala., and Devon from Slocum; greatgrandchildren,
Destiny, Clayton, Haley and Tyler; and a sister, Betty (Bob) Edwards of
Waukesha.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and
Agnes Turkoski; a son, Matthew, in 1970; and his wife, Sally (nee Hagstrum)
in 2000.
Bill served in the U.S. Marines in the South Pacific
during World War II. Bill and Sally were married in the Little Brown
Church in Vale, Iowa, and were blessed with a marriage of 53 years. Bill
retired from the Kennedy Space Center as a fiber optics technician.
Services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in
Rockledge, with military honors by the Patriot Guard and the U.S .Marine
Corp Color Guard. His internment is at Brevard Memorial Park in Cocoa,
Fla.
