Jennie Ann Pionke (nee Backstrand)
Jennie Ann Pionke (nee Backstrand) of Pewaukee entered eternal life Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at the age of 59, at her home with her husband, William Pionke, by her side after a long struggle with cancer.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, simple faith and inspiration to all. She will continue to be loved by all who knew her and an angel among us. She was best known for her beautiful smile, loving hands and great food. She owned her own salon, Jenís (formerly Lookiní Good), in her home and developed many friendships throughout the years. She loved to spend weekends on the back of Willís motorcycle and out camping with him at Devilís Lake State Park. She was also known for making her yard beautiful with her excellent gardening skills. She spent her last few years of life watching her family expand and pouring love on her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, William; two children, Felicia (Patrick) Conner of Bloomington, Minn., and Tami (Nickolas) Anderson of Antigo; six grandchildren, Allison, Vanessa, Andrew, Benjamin, Aiden and Jameson; a brother, John (Ilona, nee Schenk) Backstrand of Oak Creek; and a sister, Jonnie McElvogue of Pewaukee.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service Saturday, Nov. 12, at Yonke & Son Funeral Home, 205 Prospect Ave., Pewaukee.
Yonke & Son Funeral Home, 691-1900, is serving the family.
