Karen had a particular love of animals. Over the years, she treated each one of her pet Chow dogs with royalty. Karen had a knack for crafts and gardening. She turned a once-sparse yard into an oasis of trees, ornamental shrubs and flowers. Karen grew up in Marshall and moved to Waukesha in the mid-1970s. She worked thereafter in the office of Mortgage Financial. Special thanks are extended to AngelsGrace Hospice for the attentive and loving care given to Karen during her final weeks while residing at their facility. Karen was a loyal
member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. A private service was held for
Karen last Wednesday in Mequon.

Karen
A. Ratzel passed away Oct. 23, 2011, at age 64, after a lengthy battle
with cancer. To all who knew her, she was a loving and unassuming person
who spoke with cheerful and kind words.
