Paul J. Smith Sr.

Paul J. Smith Sr. of Merton passed to eternal life Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at age 73.
He was the loving and devoted husband of 45 years to Sheryl (nee Haggith); beloved father of Paul Jr. (Nicola), Peter (Julie) and Patrick (Carrie); proud grandfather of Bailey, Josie, Jaclyn, Alexsey, Charlie, Sydney and Lindsey; and dear brother of Donald (Carol) Smith, Pat Wolf, Lois Goetz and Carol Anderson. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and many friends.

Paul served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960 and was stationed in Korea. He became an independent insurance agent in 1960 and was an agent and entrepreneur his whole life. Paul was a member of the Elks Club, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, bowler and traveler. Paul had a lust for life and family meant everything to him. He always had a joke and a smile for you.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. Mass of Christian burial Thursday, Nov. 17, at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, N35-W23360 W. Capitol Drive, Pewaukee. Entombment with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield. Please meet at the cemetery’s main building, green section.
