Elizabeth ‘Bette’ Henrikson (nee Butler)

Elizabeth "Bette" Henrikson (nee Butler) died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at Linden Heights Assisted Living.

She was born April 1, 1918, to parents John and Agnes (Harrington) Butler in Waukesha. She graduated from Waukesha High School and Spencerian Business School in Milwaukee.

In 1940, she married Milton "Kewpie" Henrikson.

Bette is survived by her five children, Duncan (Marilyn) of Pueblo, Colo., Jean Metzger of New York City, Kevin (Mary) of Portage, Mindee (Ted) Stekkinger of Santa Paula, Calif., and Megan Sue Henrikson of Waukesha. She is further survived by 13 grandchildren, nine-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kewpie Henrikson, and a grandson, Jason Eberle.

Bette was known for her quick wit and generous heart. She loved to travel and was always interested in meeting new people and learning new things. She was very active as a volunteer and spent many hours exercising and swimming.

The family would like to thank the staff at Linden Heights and Hospice Advantage for their wonderful care, and her good friends Rita Bibeau and Ginny Monaghan for their years of friendship.

According to her wishes, her body was donated to the Medical College of Wisconsin.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
