Roy M. Gormanson

Roy M. Gormanson of Delafield, formerly of Waukesha, found peace Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at the age of 93 years.
Roy was born July 6, 1918, in Menomonie, to Elmer Sr. and Edith. He was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis (nee Richards) and the late Mary Alice (nee Kirchner).
He is survived by his sons, Dwayne (Cathy) Gormanson of Hayward and Glen (Mary) Gormanson of Waukesha; a stepson, David (Susan) Preusse of Waukesha; his grandchildren, Kelly (Patrick) Barron and Keith (Brittany) Gormanson, all of Waukesha; and a great-grandson, Jude Barron of Waukesha. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Roy served in the 32nd Division with the U.S. Army in the Philippine Islands during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a master Mason with Hartland Lodge #42. Roy was a retiree of Waukesha Motors after 30-plus years of dedicated service.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until the 7:30 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (on the corner of highways J and JJ, about four blocks south of Interstate 94). A private interment will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County are appreciated.
