Margaret A. Fox-Mehling
June 26, 1918 – March 29, 2012
Margaret A. Fox-Mehling passed away peacefully Thursday, March 29, 2012,
at the age of 93. She was born in Glendale on June 26, 1918, the daughter
of Carl and Aurora (nee Nielsen) Rasmussen.
Margaret was a graduate of Whitewater State Teachers College and had been
a teacher in Delafield for many years. Margaret was a member of St. Mark’s
Lutheran Church in Waukesha, where she had been a Sunday school teacher.
Margaret was active in scouting and had been a Brownie leader, a Cub Scout
leader and was also a 4-H leader. She also had been a volunteer for RSVP
for many years. Margaret loved her family deeply, and they were the most
important thing to her throughout her life.
Margaret was the wife of the late Frank E. Fox Jr. and the late Gilbert
Mehling. She is survived by her children, Karen (Stephen) Haynes, Nancy
(Robert) Lindblom, Lee (Linda) Fox and Carl (Susan) Fox. Margaret is also
survived by a sister, Jane (Gene) Ruenger, and by her grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by three sisters Evelyn Adams, Lillian
Kiewert and Hildur Taylor; and three brothers, Carl Rasmussen, Harold
Rasmussen and Clarence Rasmussen.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service
Wednesday, April 4, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road
(at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha.
Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care and support
Margaret received from the staff at Kirkland Crossing during her years
there and the exceptional care she received from the staff of Seasons
Hospice during her final days. The family wishes to give
"special" thanks to her very good friend, Jean Peterson, who was
with her to the end.
