Richard C. Houk, 78, of rural Palmyra, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital in Waukesha. He was born Dec. 19, 1933, in rural Ottawa, the son of the late Peter and Margaret (Mundschau) Houk. 

He married the love of his life, Janet Agen, on Dec. 22, 1955, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Eagle. Richard worked many years at Gredes Foundry. He served in the Navy from November 1955 to November 1961. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, cooking, dancing and tinkering/putzing around the house. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His grandkids were the twinkle in his eye. 

Richard is survived by his three daughters, Rhonda (Robert) Leader of Oconomowoc, Debra (Robert) Balk of Eagle and Roxanne (Steven) Pease of Sullivan; his four grandchildren, Brooke, Carlee, Hailey and Brandon; his two brothers, Clarence and Ralph Houk; and other relatives and many good friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Janet; five brothers, Arthur, Pete, Paul, Don and Leo; and a sister: Dorothy. Per Richard’s requests, no formal funeral ceremony will be held. The family thanks you for your kind thoughts and prayers.
