Marion
B. Evans of Sun Prairie, formerly of Wales, died Sunday, April 22, 2012,
at Pine View Living of Sun Prairie at the age of 94. She was born Aug.
12, 1917, the daughter of Evan J. and Mary Belle (nee Goodwin) Roberts.
During the Depression, she moved to Chicago and worked for Campbell’s
Soup Co. In 1940, she married Harold Evans; he preceded her in death in
1989. For many years, she worked as a library aide for Waukesha and
Kettle Moraine public schools. She was a member of Dousman No. 257 Order
of the Eastern Star.
Marion was a longtime member of Jerusalem Presbyterian Church in Wales
and was a member of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church in Cottage Grove.
Marion was very proud to have lived a long and full life.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Sally (Rodney) Johnson of
Hatfield and Thom (Kim Miller) Evans of Monona; her grandchildren,
Steven (Susanne) Lodes, Angie Lodes, Jeremy Johnson, Aimee Crass, Mara
Evans, Elena Evans, Jenna Evans and Connor McDermott; and three
great-grandchildren, Hannah Lodes, Sam Lodes and Jack Elliott. She is
further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Harold, she was preceded in death by her
brothers, John and Hugh; her daughter-in-law, Sally Gronli-Evans; and
her son in-law, James Lodes.
The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to Pine View Living of
Sun Prairie and to St. Jude Hospice for their kind and gentle care of
Marion.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral
service Friday, April 27, at Jerusalem Presbyterian Church, 207 W. Main
St., Wales, WI 53183. Burial will immediately follow at Jerusalem
Cemetery.
