Robert Gilbert Santo passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. Bob now joins his beloved Terry, wife of 63 years, in eternal life.
He was born in Browns Valley, Minn., on Sept. 23, 1929.
He was the beloved father of 10 children, Rebecca Lodewick, David (Mary), Michael, Daniel (Karey), Jeannette (Michael) McMurray, Faith Wenrich, Nancy (Tom) Wheatley, Mary (James) Syburg, Frederick (Tiffany) and Timothy (Kathleen); dearest grandfather to Jason, Marcia, Elizabeth, Matthew, Cassandra, Jessica, Daniel, Amy, Ben, Kathryn, Gretchen, Austin, Robert, Nathan, Anna and Miranda; and nine great-grandchildren. He is survived by a brother, James; his sisters, Pat and Delores; a sister-in-law, Patricia Santo; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his loving wife, Bob was also preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Rene Santo; three brothers, Bernard, Vincent and Donald; and a grandson Brandon Stowe.
Bob was a familiar face in the Lake Country/Waukesha area, as owner/operator of a home milk delivery business for nearly 20 years and later, as owner and president of Oconomowoc Transport Co. and a fleet of school buses. He was also very proud of serving in the U. S. Navy from 1948 to 1950.
Bob's family is deeply grateful to the caregivers at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care, compassion and respect shown to our beloved Bob.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral Mass on Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Highway 83, North Lake. His final rest will be in St. Joan of Arc Cemetery, Oconomowoc.
If desired, memorials may be made to the ALS Association or the Salvation Army in Bob's name.
