Michael A. ‘Mike’ Anzivino Sr.

Michael A. “Mike” Anzivino Sr. of Waukesha passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at the age of 93. He was born Sept. 27, 1919, in Waukesha, the son of Antonio and Ruth Anzivino.

 

Mike married the love of his life, Phyllis C. (nee Weileder) on May 4, 1946. He was a proud World War II Army veteran, during which he served eight months on Kanton Island in the South Pacific and also time in Hawaii and Europe. Mike was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, where he was a past state commander. Mike was also a member of the VFW Post Soat-Vergenz Post 721 of Waukesha. He was a charter member of St. William Catholic Church and a lifetime Member of the Milwaukee Carpenters Union Local 344. Mike was an avid golfer and devoted fan of the Packers and Badgers.

 

Mike will be sadly missed by his son, Michael A. Anzivino Jr. of Waukesha; daughter, Patricia A. (Scott) Miller of Waukesha; grandchildren, Michael S. (Janette) Miller and Monica (Robert) Sweetman; great-grandchildren, Makayla Sweetman and Sydney Sweetman; and sister-in-law, Betty Franz. Mike is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; brother, Lawrence; and sister, Mary Mackie.

 

Visitation for Mike will be held from 4 p.m. until the 6:45 p.m. VFW Post 721 Soat-Vergenz memorial service Friday, Dec. 7, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha. A vigil service will immediately follow. A second visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday and process from the funeral home for Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI 53188. Entombment to immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
