MUKWONAGO

Dr. Douglas L. Kincaid

Dr. Douglas L. Kincaid of Mukwonago brought an end to his short but hard-fought battle with heart disease Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the age of 63.

Doug came into the world in Coffeyville, Kan., the son of Leroy and Anna Mae Kincaid of Caney, Kan. On Feb. 24, 2007, Doug married the love of his life, Susan Latham.

Doug graduated from the University of Kansas in 1971 and continued his studies at the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, where he graduated with a doctorate in podiatric medicine in 1976. He established his own podiatric practices in Milwaukee, Waukesha and Greenfield, and was dedicated both professionally and personally to each and every one of his patients.

Doug was passionate about his family and hunting. Every year Doug hosted the Kincaid family reunion over the Fourth of July and when Sue joined the family, the reunion took on a much enhanced and refined atmosphere.

Doug’s interest in hunting started at a young age with his father in Kansas and continued throughout the years with his buddies in Wisconsin collecting multiple trophies along the way.

Doug was a talented musician and entertained everyone he came in contact with through his creative song writing, piano playing and his overall fun, quirky personality.

By divine intervention, Doug met Sue at a sock hop that neither had planned to attend. After one dance they spent the rest of the night together dancing and getting to know one another. At the end of the night, Doug asked her for one last dance and Sue had to decline because of a foot injury that she had been nursing. Only after Doug diagnosed her problem without even looking at her foot did she realize that she had spent the evening with a foot doctor. He gave her a business card and said, “Call me either for a date or to get your foot fixed.” This was the beginning of a beautiful dance that was much too short, but will live in all of our hearts forever.

In addition to his wife, Doug is survived by his loving sisters, Diana (Tom) Sheldon of Louisville, Colo., and Debbie (Ray) Funk and Donna Kincaid of State College, Pa.; nieces and nephew, Rachael (Justin), Hannah, Rebecca, Jasmine (Justin), Drew (Carly), Tamara (Tim), Lydia (Matt) and Anna Leah, and great-niece Avery; mother-in-law, Carol Beucke (Jim) of Sullivan, Mo.; father-in-law, Charlie (Nina) of Lonedell, Mo.; sister-in-law, Nancy Linn of Oakville, Mo.; brother-in-law, Steven Pollard of Monnett, Mo.; nieces and nephews, Jason (Karen), Jessica, Krista (Chris), and Jared; great-niece and -nephews, Evan, Lucas, Kaiden, Cira, Dawson, and Logan; and numerous family and friends.
