James Forrest Sullivan

James Forrest Sullivan, 87, formerly of Milwaukee and Pine Lake, was born March 5, 1925, to William and Vivian Sullivan.
Jim graduated from Marquette High School in 1943, then joined the U.S. Navy as a fighter pilot. He was on the first aircraft carrier USS Ranger. He earned the rank of lieutenant senior grade. After World War II, he received his bachelorís of science degree in spectroscopy at Marquette University. Jim worked for Briggs & Stratton for 37 years and was promoted to vice president of sales and marketing. He retired in 1987.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Kathryn Muenzner Sullivan; his loving children, Colleen Mortonson of Oconomowoc, James F. Sullivan of Fairway, Kan., Suzanne Irving of Brackley, England, Kari Buterbaugh of Fairfield, Pa., and Dr. John P. Sullivan of Jacksonville, Fla.; 18 dear grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Jim lost a son, David Michael Sullivan, to muscular dystrophy in 1989.
Jim was such a wonderful husband and father. He loved spending time with his family and will be sorely missed.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Dec. 27, at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, N7462 Highway 83, North Lake. His final rest will be at LaBelle Cemetery in Oconomowoc, where military honors will be held. The family will receive friends after the Mass and burial at the Chenequa Country Club, 6250 N. Highway 83, Chenequa.
