Vivian R. Neiman

Feb. 6, 1920 - Feb. 9, 2012

Vivian R. Neiman went home to be with her heavenly family Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at age 92. She was born in Shorewood on Feb. 6, 1920, the daughter of Wendelin and Ruth (nee Hornbeck) Baltes.

Vivian entered the U.S. Army during World War II and served as a sergeant in the Women’s Army Corps. She was a lifetime member of Soat-Vergenz VFW Post No. 721 Auxiliary, where she had served as president and held other numerous offices over the years.

Vivian is survived by her son, Michael (Cindy) Neiman of Waukesha; granddaughter, Aimee (Christopher) Atwater of Lawrence, Kan.; and by a great-grandson, Brayden. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Wendelin and Ruth; and by her brothers, Norbert and Richard.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. VFW Auxiliary Service on Sunday, Feb. 12, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha, followed by a traditional service. Military honors will follow the service. A private burial will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
