Robert ‘Bob’ Henke

Robert "Bob" Henke of Waukesha passed away suddenly Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at the age of 80. He was born in northern Wisconsin, the son of Ermon and Irma Henke.

Bob married the love of his life, Carol J. Hildebran, on Aug. 25, 1951. He worked at Bundy Construction, retiring in 2000. Bob was a member of Laborers Union 113 and Operating Engineers local 139. He later drove cars for the local Wilde auto dealer in town. He also liked to go to the casinos. His true passion was being a musician. Bob played guitar in the band The Country Travelers until 1982. His love of music was passed on to his grandchildren.

Bob will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, Carol; daughter, Sandy (Ed) Grosh of Waukesha; grandchildren, Eric (Leah) Grosh of Seattle and Chris Grosh of Waukesha; sister, Karen Wood of Gillett; and sisters-in-law, Cathy Henke of Medford, Barb (Dave) Smith of Waukesha and Joanne Hildebran of Waukesha. Bob is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Charlie and Malin Henke; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Feb. 16, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Entombment will take place at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Prairie Home Cemetery, 605 S. Prairie Ave. Waukesha. Please meet at the cemetery office by 8:45 a.m.
