Susan A. Rao

Susan A. Rao (nee Czajkowski) died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at age 67.

She was the devoted wife of Dr. T.R. Rao for 42 years; loving mother of Maya (Jason) Hughes; proud and loving grandmother of treasured grandsons Quinn and Ethan; and devoted niece of the wonderful Geri Steenweg. Susan will be missed by her brother, Ned (Carol) Czajkowski; her nephew, James (Anne) Shaw; and a network of kind friends and extended family including aunts, uncles and cousins on her parentsí sides (the late Edward and Myra Czajkowski) as well as on her husbandís side throughout the United States and India.

Susan especially wished to thank Amy Schultz and Lisa Gramoll for their kindness, friendship and help for the past eight years, and the loving, tender care of Enga Vetsch and Tuka Legtheg in her last days.

At Susanís request, no public service will be held. To express personal condolences to her family and honor her life, you are invited to the Country Inn & Suites, Milwaukee-West Hotel, 1250 S. Moorland Road, Brookfield, to the Elmbrook Room on Saturday, March 10, between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Susanís favorite charities which include Feeding America (Wisconsin Chapter), Doctors Without Borders, Habitat for Humanity, Fur Keeps Animal Rescue and other organizations to help animals.

In Susanís own words: "Remember me with smiles, not sadness. Remember the fun, the funny, the affection, the love. Be kind to others and enjoy the music of your lives." Susan will be remembered by all of those whose lives she touched through her kindness, her letters, her humor, her generosity and her love. Her family is grateful that, at last, she has been released from the pain of a long, difficult illness and that her graceful spirit is finally free.
