He married the love of his life, Viola Robbins, on Feb. 24, 1951, and they shared 60 glorious years together. Erwin was a longtime member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Waukesha. He was a mason for Wisconsin Electric for more than 20 years. Erwin was a kind, loving, handy man, who had a witty sense of humor. He will always be remembered for thoroughly enjoying a morning cup of McDonald’s coffee. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Erwin proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Erwin will be sadly missed by his children, Pamela (Evan Howard) Ebeling and Kurt (Cindy) Ebeling. He was the loving grandfather of Angela Ebeling, Katelyn Dyer and Lauren Dyer, and uncle of Linda (Gary) Gabel and Judy (Ken) Mastenbrook. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Erwin was preceded in death by his wife, Viola "Vi"; a daughter, Sandra Dyer; parents; a sister, Anna; and two brothers, Willie and Walter.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the 6 p.m. vigil service Wednesday, Feb. 29, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2400 Highway 59, Waukesha. The Rev. Jim Vojtik will be officiating. Entombment with military honors will immediately follow the Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Waukesha.
