Jeanne
Loretta Szarek (nee Sigler) passed into the Lord’s arms unexpectedly
Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at the age of 64. She was surrounded by family.
Jeanne was the loving wife of James
"Jim" Szarek; dear mother of Jerome Selear, Jon (Kristin) Selear,
Jeannette Selear, Brandon Szarek and Robert "Robbie" Szarek;
loving grandmother of Sandra, Brittany, Samantha, Loren, Tyler, Thomas,
Karli, Maximus, Gabrielle and Alexandra; loving great-grandmother of
Daniel, Peyton, Jayden and Dee Anna; and sister of Lynn (Wayne) Geoffrey,
Kenneth (Lynn) Sigler, Glenn (Laurinda) Sigler and Dennis Sigler. She is
further survived by many other relatives and friends.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Franklyn and Elaine Sigler,
and a son, Jeffery Selear.
Jeanne was an avid member and queen mum of the Red Hat Society, locally
known as the Wild But Wonderful Red Hatter’s of Waukesha and was queen
of the Southeast Wisconsin Chapter. She was a volunteer for numerous
county and school organizations, and was an active member of Blessed
Savior Lutheran Church, having served as a past superintendent of the
Sunday school program.
Additionally, Jeanne was a very successful men’s softball coach, having
met her husband there some years ago. Jeanne and her family also were avid
fans of the UWM men’s basketball team, loved Red Hat gatherings, school
activities, parties and cruising in her Mustang with the top down. She
will also be missed by the friends she made at Reinhart Food Service. As a
foster parent, she touched the lives of many children. Jeanne and her
tireless efforts and wonderful sense of humor will be sadly missed.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at Krause Funeral
Home, 12401 W. National Ave., New Berlin. Visitation continues from 10
a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at Blessed Savior Lutheran Church,
15250 W. Cleveland Ave., New Berlin, WI 53151. A funeral service will be
held at noon. Burial immediately follows the service at Highland Memorial
Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Blessed Savior Lutheran
Church at the above address, or to The Milwaukee County Zoological Society
of Waukesha County.
