Shirley M. Gendrich

Shirley M. Gendrich, 84, of Waukesha, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012.

She was the loving mother of Barbara Brandt, Linda (Victor) Fick, JoAnn (Michael) Cmeyla and Donald Gendrich, and proud grandma of 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also loved by her sisters, Joyce Sprague and Ramona (John) Romundson; her brother, Raymond Finley; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; four grandchildren, Shelley Brandt, Cullen, Tamara and Jason Havnen; and two brothers.

Shirley was employed as a bookkeeper for Norman E. and Dr. Amy Schley for more than 35 years. She was a past president of the Toastmistress, a past commandant of the Navy Club of Ship #53, and belongs to the survivors of USS Ommaney Bay. Shirley also volunteered for several years at Wood Hospital and was a past Girl Scout leader.

Memorial visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. memorial Mass of Christian burial Monday, Jan. 9, at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N Moreland Blvd., Waukesha.
