Jeronimo ‘Jerry’ Colon

Jeronimo "Jerry" Colon found peace Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at age 83.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Manuela. He was the loving father of Paula (Carlos) Sanchez, Luz Colon, Nancy (Hector) Mojica and Carrie (Lenny) Curry; beloved grandfather of Joshua (Carley), Erik (Kissie), Evy (Geri), Jonellie (Ahmed), Maya, Alex, Yari (Matt) and Jonathan (Kristi); and dear brother of Victor, Ramon, Julio, Maria, Neida, Nilda and Carmen Ana. He is also lovingly survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove (meet at cemetery office).

Jerry served in the Korean War, earning a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and many other metals.
