Arthur worked at Waukesha Engine Division for more than 40 years as a machinist, and upon retiring, he delivered parts at Jack Safro in Oconomowoc. He served his country during World War II in the Navy on the USS Witek, EDD 848. Arthur enjoyed traveling. He was a lifetime member at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Sullivan, where he sang in the choir. He was also a chairman of the congregation for a period during his membership. Arthur was a devoted husband, father and grandfather; he loved his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed his hobby farm in Sullivan. Arthur will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jeanette (nee Nelson); children, Daniel (Kathy) Weidner of Bonduel and Vincent (Sandy) Weidner of Waukesha; granddaughters, Jane Weidner of Sheboygan, Susan Weidner of Orlando, Fla., Maribeth Weidner of Sullivan, Julie Weidner of Basel, Switzerland, and Amy Weidner of Duluth, Minn.; sister, Patricia Johnson; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Arthur was preceded in death by his son, David Weidner, and parents, John and Helen Weidner of Wisconsin Dells.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at St. Johnís Lutheran Church, W405 Highway 18, Sullivan. Visitation continues from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, Jan. 17, at the church.
