Joseph C. ‘Joe" Rouse

Joseph C. "Joe" Rouse passed away peacefully surrounded by family Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at the age of 88.

Joe’s beloved wife of 54 years, Phyllis (nee Korman), and precious daughter, Vicki Nemath, preceded him in death.

Joe will be dearly missed by his loving children, Joe (Sally) Rouse, Carrie (Bob) Foxx, Barb (Kevin) Kern, Dawn (Rick) Hurtado and Doug Rouse; cherished grandchildren, Brad (Chey), Cammie, Joshua, Lindsay, Amy, Rob, John, Cassandra (Anibal) Virgen and Brandon; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, George "Junior" (Mary) and Gene (Diane); sister, Lydia "Sis" (Jerry); son-in-law, John Nemath; along with many other relatives and friends.

Joe was a proud Navy veteran. His most memorable (and often talked about) experience was a friendship he developed with actor Robert Taylor while in the service.

The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to Dr. Carey and all the staff at Purity Dialysis for their care and attention to Joe during these difficult days.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated to Joe’s favorite charities.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha. A celebration of Joe’s life will begin at 6 p.m. Military honors will follow. A private internment will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove.
