Russel A. Overman

Russel A. Overman, 81, of Dunbar, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Community Memorial Hospital in Menominee Falls. He was born in Niagara on Sept. 10, 1930, a son of John and Wilda (Graham) Overman.
Russel graduated from Pembine High School and married Audrey Monsen on March, 19, 1954. He later went on to serve his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force as a radio operator stationed in the Venetian Islands. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in New Berlin in November 1985. He was an active member of the Dunbar Sportman’s Club. He loved to hunt and fish as well as spend time completing crossword puzzles. He enjoyed the northwoods of Wisconsin and was bound and determined to live there the rest of his life. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Russel is survived by his four children, Robert (Jana) Overman, David (Lee Ann) Overman, Jeff (Robin) Overman and Lisa (Mike) Davies; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Carol Jean (Jim) Butzler; and numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Audrey; five brothers, Paul, Bob, Graham, Ernie and Fred; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Spice.
Services will be held in July in Dunbar.
