Miriam B. Kelsey
April 21, 1920 - June 28, 2012
Miriam B. Kelsey of Waukesha was born in Zealandia, Saskatchewan, Canada, on April 21, 1920. She passed away on June 28, 2012, at the age of 92.
In 1942, Miriam graduated from Englewood School of Nursing in Chicago as a registered nurse. She married Robert E. Kelsey of Waukesha after he returned from World War II. They were married 31 years until Robert died suddenly in 1976.
She worked for many at Waukesha Memorial Hospital in pediatrics and in doctors' offices for pediatrics. After her retirement in 1985, she continued in home care nursing and caring for children as a registered nurse.
Miriam was a dedicated nurse, dedicated loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a faithful servant to God and her church, and loved by all who knew her.
Miriam was dearly loved by her three children: Robert (Linda) Kelsey, Susan (Larry) Wilson of Mequon, and Jill R. Kelsey. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Brian (Vanessa) Wilson, Robert E. (Megan) Kelsey Jr., Michael (Amy) Kelsey, Ryan (Katie) Kelsey, Matthew (Carissa) Wilson, and Jacquelyn Wilson. She will also be missed by her great-grandchildren: Payton, Madison, Avery, Evelyn, Bella, Lucas, Wesley, James, Samuel, and Lauren. She is further survived by her four sisters, Inez Lang, Hazel Schmitt, Eunice Redman and Phyllis Rasmussen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Luella Fordham; her husband, Robert E. Kelsey Sr.; and her siblings Clarence Eugene Fordham, James Fordham, Charles Fordham, and Norma (Fordham) Lang.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Victory International Fellowship at 3285 N. Calhoun Road in Brookfield.
