Robert Thomas, 89, of Pewaukee passed away Monday, July 2, at Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, Waukesha.
Mr. Thomas was born in Hammond, Ind. He earned college degrees from Indiana State University and the University of Wisconsin. Upon completion of his graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, he began his Pewaukee High School teaching career. It was at Pewaukee High School that he taught history courses for many years. He truly cherished his years of teaching history to the many Pewaukee High School students. After retiring from high school teaching, he spent a number of years teaching Civil War history for the University of South Alabama’s Elderhostel program.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; sons Bruce and wife Debra, John and wife Marcia, and grandchildren Ryan, Alycia, and Robert.
Visitation will be held at Yonke and Sons Funeral Home, 205 Prospect Ave. in Pewaukee from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 8. Cremation was chosen and a private family memorial service will be held at a later time.
