Barbara Jean Baker

Barbara Jean Baker of Waukesha passed away peacefully with her husband, Steven, by her side Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at the age of 63.

Barbara was born in Ashland on May 12, 1949, the daughter of Walter and Joanne (nee Anderson) Bjork. She married the love of her life, Steven Baker, on Feb. 14, 1979. Barbara was a dedicated certified nursing assistant and nursing was her passion. She was an avid reader of romance books and baby stories. Barbara enjoyed watching cooking shows, but more than anything, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Barbara will be dearly missed by her husband, Steven; her children, Christopher (Lolita) Baker and Theresa Baker; her grandchildren, Austin Miller-Baker, Anthony Joseph Rodriguez, Andrew Johnson, Rene, Aaron and Yesenia; her great-granddaughter, Janellie; her sisters, Patricia Wassenaar of Wauwatosa and Deborah (Larry) Smith of Eau Claire; her niece, Carrie Wassenaar; her nephew, Brad Wassenaar; and many other family and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncles and her mother-in-law, Jeanette Rantala.

A visitation for Barbara will be from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. celebration of life service Monday, July 16, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Barbara will be laid to rest at Southeastern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated in Barbara’s memory to her family.
