Aug. 6, 1925 – July 15, 2012

Arlene E. Roy, 86, formerly of Stevens Point, died peacefully at her home in Oconomowoc on Sunday, July 15, 2012.

Arlene was born Aug. 6, 1925, to the late Walter and Ruby (Philbrick) Lepper in Stevens Point. She grew up here, attended the local grade schools and graduated from high school.
Arlene worked for the Stevens Point Bakery for a short time.

She married Louis Roy on Oct. 26, 1946, at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Arlene was married to Louis for 54 years until his death on Dec. 31, 2000.

Arlene devoted the majority of her life to family and raising her children. After her children had grown, Arlene returned to work and became employed with Celestial Farms, Plover. As time passed, Arlene and Louis decided to rid themselves of Wisconsin’s winter months by settling in Seffner, Fla. Nine years following death of her husband, Arlene moved back to Wisconsin, where she lived with her son in Oconomowoc.

Arlene will be remembered for her social nature and sense of humor. She loved her family, and spending time with them was cherished always. In her spare time, Arlene enjoyed collecting antique and unique plates, watching “Wheel of Fortune,” gardening and nurturing flowers, reading magazines and venturing out to rummage sales. She also enjoyed spending summer days on her swing and watching the birds year-round. In later years, Arlene enjoyed riding on the four-wheeler with her son, Gary.

Survivors include her children, Ronald of Wisconsin Rapids, Linda (Ron) Robards of Tampa, Fla., Gary of Oconomowoc and Darrel (Debbie) of Iola; siblings, Gwendolyn Schmidlkofer of Plover, Gaylord (Louise) Lepper of Mosinee, Beverly Mahne of Colorado, Joy (Forrest) Cummings of Stevens Point, Edward (Cathy) Lepper of Milwaukee, Robert (Barb) Lepper of California, Dennis (Irene) Lepper of Plover and Judy (Ron) Molski of Plover. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service celebrating her life Saturday, July 21, at Boston Funeral Home, 1649 Briggs St., Stevens Point. Burial will be held at Forest Cemetery in Stevens Point. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Boston Funeral Home, 715-344-4223, is serving the family.

Arlene will be remembered always and never forgotten.
