Evangeline Winona Weber, 88, of Whitewater, formerly of Fort Atkinson, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Fairhaven Corp. in Whitewater.

Evangeline was born in Waukesha on Jan. 21, 1924, the daughter of August and Edna (nee Braunel) Frey.

She graduated from Waukesha High School in 1942 and was the secretary to building inspector Tom Hones in Waukesha.

She married Ned Weber on Sept. 28, 1957, at the Waukesha Bible Church in Waukesha. While living in Ixonia, Ned and Vangie volunteered at the Park Lawn School in Oconomowoc, Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and Waukesha County Disabled American Veterans. After they moved to Fort Atkinson, they volunteered at Faith Community Christian School and Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital Partners until they moved to Fairhaven in June 2010.

Surviving are her husband, Ned; daughter, Julie (Kevin) Ellis of Oconomowoc; grandchildren, Corbin, Parker and Sydney; and an "adopted" son, Steven Brown of Abbotsford.

Vangie was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Monday, June 4, at Faith Community Church in Fort Atkinson, with Jerry Brown and pastor Dan Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.
