Gerald Geraldson, 85, of Waukesha and Oconomowoc, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry is survived by the light of his life, his wife of 53 years, Jay Geraldson; his children, Karen (Shay) Johnson, Paul (Sylvia) Geraldson, Julie (Dan) Rabay and Peter Geraldson; grandchildren, Kayla, Tori, Jacob, Jessica, Danielle and Kara; a sister, Eunice Anderson; and a brother, David (Vel) Geraldson; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Gerald was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred, and a brother, Raymond.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 5 p.m. memorial service Thursday, June 7, at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Oconomowoc. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salvation Army of Waukesha.
He served in the Navy and Army and attended Notre Dame and the University of Illinois. During a successful business career with his brother Dave (Precision Gears Inc.), Jerry became very involved in founding Southminster Presbyterian Church of Waukesha and the development of the Waukesha YMCA. He was also a past president of Rotary, in addition to other community service. Jerry and Jay then went on to form a second home in Destin, Fla., to enjoy the sun, golf and tennis. There, they were active members of the Community Church of Santa Rosa Beach, including service in the Stevens Ministries.
Jerry will always be fondly remembered by family and friends. His grace and deep faith will be a legacy to those who knew and loved him.
