Quintin H. Sutton
Aug. 29, 1925 – June 7, 2012
Quintin H. Sutton of Waukesha died Thursday June 7, 2012, at Avalon Square at the age of 86. He was born Aug. 29 1925, in Tea, S.D., the son of William and Helena (nee Pass) Sutton.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. On Sept. 11, 1948, he married the former Marjorie Krohn in Milwaukee. In 1950, Quintin graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering and worked for more than 35 years as an engineer for RTE Corp. before retiring in 1988.
Quint and Marge enjoyed many years at their Nagawicka Lake cottage and also migrated for over 20 years to Pt. Charlotte, Fla. in the winter. Quintin served on the LakesEdge Condo Association board for many years, including the aftermath of Hurricane Charley. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking and working with stained glass. His last project before the strokes was to build a pool table. Many friends were recipients of his stained glass projects. He was the “go-to” guy who could fix anything. He spent much time in Topsfield helping remodel his daughter’s house. Quintin was able to go on the June 2 Stars and Stripes Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., to see the WWII memorials.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of more than 63 years, Marjorie of Waukesha; his daughter, Patricia (Matthew) Sutton-Knight of Topsfield, Mass.; and his two grandchildren, William and Grace of Topsfield. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William; his sisters, Phyllis Rose of California and Rita McIntyre of Illinois; and his parents.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the noon memorial service Monday, June 18, at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Full military honors will follow the service.
If desired, memorials can be made to Waukesha Memorial Hospital Foundation, 725 American Ave., Waukesha, WI 53188.
