William H. Harding

William H. Harding, 91, of Waukesha, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Waukesha Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center.
William was born April 14, 1921, the son of the late Henry and Alvira Harding. William was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. After the war, William and his late brother-in-law, John Prelozni, opened and operated The Main Way Market Grocery Store in downtown Waukesha until 1960. William then went to work for RTE and later transfered to Waukesha Electric, where he retired in 1986. He was a member of the Westbrook Wesleyan Church of New Berlin and enjoyed bowling, fishing and hunting for morels.
He was the beloved husband of Darlene of Waukesha for 71 years; cherished father of Gary of Kenosha, Alan (Diane) of Palmyra and Lana Harding of Spooner; dearest grandfather of Jack (Beth) of Elkhorn, Scott (Carlin) of Elkhorn and Jaime (Jeff) Ramlow of Palmyra; great-grandfather of Andrew, Brandon, Megan, Lucas, Samantha, Jacob, Maddy, Brady and Carter; and brother-in-law of Gail Prelozni of Waukesha, William (Joann) Bridges of Minnesota and Shirley Bridges of Waupaca. William is further survived by other relatives and friends.
William was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Todd and Steven; a daughterin-law, Sally; and his five sisters, Fannie (Lee) Ellison, Mildred Harding, Margaret Harding, Ethel (Fred) Rankin and Leola (Ray) Key.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the 4:30 p.m. memorial service Saturday, June 23, at Haase Lockwood Funeral Homes, 320 W. Main St., Palmyra, with the Rev. Scott Smith officiating.
