Lawrence Torgerson Sr.

Nov. 10, 1931 - March 1, 2012

Lawrence Torgerson Sr. of the Town of Vernon passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at the age of 80. Lawrence was the last of 10 children of James and Sophie Torgerson.

He married Donna Thom on Sept. 5, 1953, in Milwaukee. They were married for 58 years and have raised four children.

He is the loving father of Lawrence (Joyce) Torgerson Jr. of Oak Creek, Robyn (Michael) Ksicinski of Johnson Creek, Timothy (Michele) Torgerson Sr. of Muskego and Diane (Howard) Hart of Ahmeek, Mich.; and proud grandpa of Sophia Torgerson, Sarah and Lucas Ksicinski, Timothy Jr., Geoffrey and James Torgerson and Theresa, Clinton and Chad Hart. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lawrence was preceded in death by a grandson, Alexander Torgerson.

Lawrence worked as a machinist for 46 years at Chain-Belt, which later became Rexnord. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, spending time in the outdoors and playing sheepshead and euchre.

Visitation will be held from noon until the 1 p.m. memorial service Saturday, March 10, at Vernon Presbyterian Church, S71-W23280 National Ave., Big Bend. Burial will follow in the Vernon Presbyterian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Vernon Presbyterian Church.
