Stephen Edward Gorczany

Stephen Edward Gorczany passed away at age 55 with his family and friends at his side Thursday, March 8, 2012, after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer during the past year.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Carol and Edward, and a sister, Katherine.

He was the loving and devoted husband of Marie and the dear father of Sarah and Katherine. He is also survived by a sister, Debbie (Michael) Sohns, and his extended family Tammy Nguyen, Raymond Lieu, Vincent and Nicole Lieu, Tony and Emma Lieu and their children, Jonas and Faye Lieu and Lily and Robinson Hogue. Steve received love and support from his parents-in-law, Duane and Eleanor Lussier, and brother-in-law, David.

Steve was an avid Brewers fan, sports enthusiast, homebrewer, gardener, music lover, grill master, avid reader, classic movie fan and all-around good friend. He enjoyed trying to golf with Marie and Katherine and watching thunderstorms with Sarah. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the American Homebrewers Association and Beer Barons. Steve retired from AT&T after 35 years of service. He also volunteered with his daughter Sarah for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the 7 p.m. vigil Thursday, March 15, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha. Steve will lie in state from 11 a.m. until the noon Mass of Christian burial Friday, March 16, at St. Williams Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Private interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission and the Milwaukee Affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
