Ronald F. ‘Ron’ Blum

Ronald F. "Ron" Blum of Pewaukee died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at LindenGrove in Waukesha at the age of 77. He was born in Milwaukee on Nov. 4, 1934, the son of Floyd and Alice (nee Schnerstein) Blum.

Ron was a 1953 graduate of Wauwatosa East High School and a 1955 graduate of the Layton School of the Arts. On June 2, 1956, he married the former Karen Fabri at Wauwatosa Avenue United Methodist Church. Ron worked in the commercial art industry as a manager and salesperson at Frank Bercker Studios in Milwaukee and then at Ferderbar Studios in West Allis. He was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Waukesha since 1973. He was also a member of the Milwaukee Advertising Club.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Karen of Pewaukee; their children, Mark (Debbie) Blum of Wales and Susan (Nicholas) Glab of Watertown; and his four granddaughters, Heather Blum of Hartford, Erin Blum of Waukesha and Shannon and Emily Blum, both of Wales. He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Carolyn Blum of Hartford, along with other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Blum.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, March 19, at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Visitation continues from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at First United Methodist Church, 121 Wisconsin Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. The Rev. Dan Schwerin and the Rev. Kris Androsky will preside. Private family graveside services will follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
