Sylvia L. Thompson

Aug. 11, 1910 – March 23, 2012

Sylvia L. Thompson, age 101, of Juneau, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Randolph.

Sylvia was born in Juneau on Aug. 11, 1910, to Robert and Ada (nee Pabst) Henkel. She grew up in Lowell and graduated from Reeseville High School in 1928. After attending Madison Business College, she worked for the Wisconsin Power & Light Co. in Madison and later moved to Beaver Dam.

She was united in marriage to Theodore Thompson on April 17, 1947, in Davenport, IA. In 1949, she and her husband Ted moved to Waukesha, where she worked in various offices.
Sylvia was a former member of E&R United Church of Christ in Waukesha, where she enjoyed volunteering. She also liked traveling, playing euchre and entertaining guests at her home.

Sylvia is survived by her cousin, Donald (Gloria) Zuelsdorf of Oak Grove; her godchild, Jennine (the Rev. Paul) Hudson of Fox Lake, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted, in 1982; two cousins, Orville and Felix, and other relatives.

Private services were held Thursday. Burial was at Lowell Cemetery, beside her husband and parents.
