James Leon Stevens

James Leon Stevens passed away unexpectedly at his home in Pewaukee on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at the age of 55 years.

Jim was born at Waukesha Memorial Hospital on March 29, 1957, to Zoe and Leon Stevens. Jim was a lifelong resident of Pewaukee and a graduate of Pewaukee High School and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

He was an award-winning journalist for the Lake Country Reporter.

Jim was an avid Brewers, Badgers and Packers (shareholder) fan. He owned a Brewers ticket pack with four seats that he loved to share with friends. He enjoyed watching and critiquing movies, as well as playing basketball with his brother Charles on Sundays.
Jim is survived by his son, Alex; mother, Zoe; a sister Sharon; and two brothers, Richard and Charles.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Stevens, and his father, Leon Stevens.
Jimís wit, devotion and charity will be missed by his friends and loved ones.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 7, at Yonke & Son Funeral Home, 205 Prospect Ave., Pewaukee, with the Rev. Pete Peterson officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Pewaukee.
Memorials in Jimís name to the American Heart Society, Milwaukee Public Television, the Timberwolf Preservation Society or the humane society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
