Richard H. Koch, born Nov. 28, 1927, to Herman and Edna Koch, died Saturday, May 5, 2012.

Richard was raised in Wauwatosa, where he graduated from Wauwatosa High School, after which he enlisted in the Navy. In 1950, Richard graduated from Purdue University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He went to work for Wehr Steel Co. On Sept. 9, 1950, Richard married Carolyn Wright. In 1957, he joined AE Rasmussen Co. as a manufacturer’s representative, and later went on to own the company known as Rasmussen Company, Inc.
In 1973, Richard and Carolyn moved their family to the Town of Genesee. Richard was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa, where he was a choir member for over 40 years and served a term as church moderator.

Richard is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn; daughters, Jamie (Lee) Mossige and Jean (Robert) Reuss; sons, Richard (Mary) Koch and Jack (Jill) Koch; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Donald.

A memorial service to celebrate Richard’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at First Congregational Church, Wauwatosa. Visitation will take place at the church from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa or the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
