Irving C. Rupp

Irving C. Rupp, 88, passed into eternal life Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua. He was born Feb. 21, 1924, to Irving and Melinda (Harter) Rupp in Waukesha.
He called Waukesha home his entire life and was a lifelong, faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Waukesha, where he loved, served and worshiped his lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Irving proudly served in Europe with the 8th Air Force during World War II. After the war, he married the love of his life, Ethel Duwel, on Aug. 27, 1949. He worked in industry during his life and for the last 20-plus years before retirement, at McKey Perforating in New Berlin.
In addition to his sister, Marion Ordway of Hartland, Irving is survived by his children: Karen (Sidney) Helms of Ridgeway, Va. (Karen has two children, Jason and Emily, and five grandchildren); Kenneth (Ruth) Rupp of Westby; and Lawrence (Cheryl) Rupp of Gilbert, Iowa (Larry has two children, Amy and Bonnie, and four grandchildren).
Irving was preceded in death by his beloved wife, his parents, a brother (Ralph Rupp), and a sister (Betty Blaedow).
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, May 15, at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Main St., Westby. Visitation continues from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service Thursday, May 17, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1060 Whiterock Ave., Waukesha (www.trinitywels.com). The Rev. Scott Oelhafen will officiate with burial in Prairie Home Cemetery.
