Ruth Oeldrich (nee Martin)

Ruth Oeldrich (nee Martin) of Pewaukee passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc. Ruth was born on the family farm in Merrimac, the first child of Anna (nee Dobratz) and Bruno Paul Martin.

Graduating from Baraboo High School, Ruth attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She chose to pursue nursing, and graduated as a registered nurse in 1944 from Mount Sinai School of Nursing (now Aurora).

Ruth married Bernard Roy Oeldrich on Sept. 4, 1948, in Brillion. In 1955, they moved to rural Pewaukee with their three girls. Ruth re-entered the work force at Waukesha County institutions and Wales School for Boys. In 1965, she began a long career as an occupational health and safety nurse for Wisconsin Centrifugal (currently MetalTek in Waukesha). After retirement, Ruth volunteered in the community, at Waukesha County Technical College and Galilee Lutheran Church. Ruth also enjoyed gardening, quilting, crafting and offered her time and talents where needed.

Ruth will be deeply missed by her daughters, Kristine Sagert of Pewaukee; Vicki Oeldrich of Jefferson City, Mo.; and Janet (Tom) Jones of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, Seth (Victoria) Jones of Dallas and Sara (Cory) West of Seminole, Okla.; three great-grandchildren, Mason West, Caeden and Vivian Jones; a sister, Dorothy Biscar; a brother, George (Carol) Martin; her nephews, Jim, Fred, Paul, Todd, Tim, Joel, and Mike; a niece, Marsha; plus many relatives, longtime neighbors and good friends.

Her parents, husband and other relatives predeceased her.
