Margaret Marie Hering (nee Wendel)
April 13, 1924 – May 14, 2012
On Monday, May 14, 2012, at the age of 88, Margaret joined her husband of 66 years, Donald, in heaven. She was born Sunday, April 13, 1924, in Washington, D.C., to the late Edwin and Mary Wendel.
She married Donald on Dec. 31, 1942, at Camp Campbell, Ky. She was the beloved mom of Dennis (Dee Dee) Hering of Oshkosh, Greg (Judy) Hering of New Berlin and Mary (Mark) Stinebrink of Lake Geneva; cherished grandma of Dean (Angie), Tricia, Tammy (Rob), Aaron (Jamie), Ivy Marie (David), Matthew, David (Kathy), Angela Marie (Chris) and Katie (Jason); great-grandma of Kyrsten, Brennan, Lexie, Jacob, Ava, Isabell, Carter, Paige Margaret, Parker, Tanner, Muira, Noelle, Leighton, Drake, Lucy Marie and Noah; sister of Delores Eckmann; and sister-in-law of Shirley Hahn. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
Margaret and Donald were involved with the 12th Armored Division Association for many years. In their retirement years, they spent most of their time at their home on Legend Lake. Her most loved activity was dancing with Don in their younger years. She loved bowling and playing cards with her sisters and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday, May 18, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2400 W. Highway 59, Waukesha. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.
