James Larson

Aug. 9, 1958 - Nov. 8, 2012

Our loving and charismatic brother, uncle, godfather, cousin and friend, Jim Larson joined the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, due to complications related to myotonic muscular dystrophy, which he bravely struggled with for seven years.

Jim was born in Oconomowoc on Aug. 9, 1958, to Donald and Virginia Larson.

Jim was a loving and doting uncle and godfather, a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, a devoted Packers, Badgers, Brewers, Hill-Murray, St. Thomas and Augsburg fan, a fun card player, and his greatest joy was gatherings with family and friends.

He fought the good fight, always courageous and smiling, through many health issues.  His faith was his guide.

Jim leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories: Jeana and Dennis Markus and Adam; Nancy and Dennis Cross, Dana and Jesse, Taylor, Grace, Carter and Evan; John and Mag Larson; Rich Larson; Kathy and Steve Mosley and Racquel and Brandon; George Hollenbeck; and many cousins, extended family and good friends.

Preceding Jim in death were his parents and his sister, Judy Hollenbeck.

Jimís residence was Stillwater, Minn., for the past 3 1/2 years, however his heart was always in Oconomowoc. Now, Jim, you are home.

Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. until the 6 p.m. funeral Mass on Friday, Nov. 16, at St. Jerome Church, 995 S. Silver Lake St., Oconomowoc.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Vincent de Paul.

A special thank-you to the staff at Apollo Homes in Stillwater for all of their wonderful care and support. Jill, Nikki, Dominic, Lynette, Nancy and the entire staff will always have a special place in our hearts.
