Barbara L. Wright

Barbara L. Wright (nee Pettis), a resident of Mukwonago, found peace Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at the age of 74. Barbara was born in Waukesha on Jan. 16, 1938, the cherished daughter of Juel and Iva (nee Collins) Pettis.
On March 29, 1954, Barbara was united in marriage to Dwight Wright and they shared 58 years and raised six children together: Darlene (Dennis) Rudolph, Charlene (James) Barnes, Ray (Wendy) Wright, Russell (Mary) Wright, Diane Wright and Corey (Jaylene) Wright. Barbara was the stepmother of Jeff (Debbie) Morgenroth; proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and dear sister of Ella Holberg, Georgia (Warren) Woolridge, Sandra (Sid) Staton, Juel Dean (Joan) Pettis and Iva Peck.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Juel and Iva Pettis; her sisters, Marrianna Chapman and Gladys Bowey; and her brothers-in-law, Robert Chapman and Harry Bowey. She is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 211 Main St., Mukwonago, with funeral services beginning at 6 p.m. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Mukwonago (please meet at the cemetery).
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Barbara’s name may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
Barbara was a dedicated member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church and the community for more that 50 years. She helped with the health clinic, food pantry, blood drives and other functions held at the church. For years, Barbara enjoyed singing in the church choir, assisting the different pastors with the church Outreach Program, including visiting shut-ins, making quilts and helping with the church drives to help the needy all around the world. Barbara helped with the church bulletins, Sunday school, the Sunday nursery, the summer Bible school and served on the Altar Guild for many years.
