James ‘Jim’ Paul Hilden

James “Jim” Paul Hilden of Waukesha died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at home at the age of 75. He was born July 26, 1937, in Laurium, Mich., the son of Alex and Ann (Lilja) Hilden.

 

Jim proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and served as a former alderman, District 4, for the city of Waukesha for six years. Jim retired from General Electric in 1996 after 32 years of service. Jim will be remembered as an avid golfer.

 

Jim will be deeply missed by his wife of 30 years, Shirley; his children, Kelly (Dan) Poplawski of Lake Mills, Penny (Jason) Shelander of Port Washington and Peggy (Aaron) Auger of Virginia Beach, Va.; six grandchildren; his brothers, George (Peggy) of Plymouth, Mich., and Thomas (Margaret) of Pewaukee; his sisters, Marian Gould of Oklahoma and Joyce (Charles “Chuck”) Grapentine of Madison; his extended family, Ruth and Michael and Sarah Benben of Racine; and other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob and William, and his sisters, Barbara and Kathy. 

 

Visitation for Jim will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. There will be a second visitation for Jim on Thursday, Oct. 18, from 11:30 a.m. until the 12:30 p.m. funeral service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1052 Whiterock Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. The Rev. Scott Oelhafen will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha with full military honors.
