John W.
“Bill” McKenzie of North Prairie entered into God’s kingdom
surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at the age of
87.In
1949, Bill was united in marriage to Avis C. Morris, and together they
raised six children. Bill and Avis dedicated their lives to the success
of Bill’s Service. He loved and cherished the community of North
Prairie. From 1974 until 1984, Bill served North Prairie as the fire
chief. He was an amazing and courageous man. Bill was a wonderful
blessing for everyone who knew him. It is a great loss for North Prairie
as he loved this town and spent his whole life giving so much of
himself.
Bill
was the beloved husband of the late Avis C. (nee Morris); loving father
of the late Lynn (the late Charles) Reddick, Terry (Brenda) McKenzie,
Jane (Mark) Boebel, Jean (Jerry) Pierzchalski, Lori (Brett) Hilmer and
Tracy Bodnaruk; proud grandfather of Jeff (Margaret) Reddick, Jackie
(Tom) Mittelstadt, Jarrod (Michelle) Reddick, Cassy McKenzie, Corey and
Zachary Boebel, Heather and Rebecca Hengstenberg, Faith Hilmer and
Lauren and MacKenzie Bodnaruk; and great-grandfather of Jackson, Adison,
Emerson and Geneva Mittelstadt, Torri Reddick, Kylie Hengstenberg and
Reece Reddick. Bill is further survived by other loving relatives and
friends.
Visitation
and services were held Friday, Aug. 31, at the Schmidt & Bartelt
Funeral Home, 930 Main St., Mukwonago. Interment will be at 10 a.m.
today, Sept. 1, at North Prairie Cemetery (please meet at the cemetery).
Memorials
in Bill’s name may be directed to the United Methodist Church in North
Prairie.
