John Edward Caspari

John E. Caspari of the town of Genesee died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 69. He was born in Milwaukee on Dec. 18, 1942, the only child of the late Edmond and Jeanette (nee Southmayd) Caspari. 


He proudly served his country during Vietnam in the U.S. Army. John was a 1960 graduate of Nathan Hale High School, received his bachelorís degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and then earned his masterís degree from Northwestern University. He worked as a journalist for the Milwaukee Sentinel and then later for Northwestern Mutual retiring in 2002. John was past president of the Public Relations Society of America. He was a member of Jerusalem Presbyterian Church and served as clerk of session. John will always be remembered foremost as a very devoted father and son. 


He will be dearly missed by his son, John (Laura) Caspari of Chicago, and his daughter, Cate (Kyle OíConnell) Caspari of Wauwatosa. He is further survived by the Torke cousins, the Jungbluth cousins and the McBride family, along with other cousins, relatives and friends. 


Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Jerusalem Presbyterian Church, 207 W. Main St., Wales, WI 53183. Visitation continues from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Sept. 15, at the church. The Rev. Bill Petterson will preside. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Milwaukee. Please meet at the cemetery entrance.
