Gerald R. Schamens

Gerald R. (Jerry) Schamens was born to eternal life
Monday, Sept. 24, 2012. Jerry was born in Milwaukee on
June 26, 1948, to Ralph and Severa Schamens.
He graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1967. He
was employed by Cooper Power Industries (formerly RTE)
from 1971 to 1999.
Jerry had a passion for collecting and restoring classic
cars. He was a member of The Losers Car Club and the
Cadillac and LaSalle Club. His favorite car was his 1940
Chevy. Club members and friends with classic cars are
invited to please drive their car to his funeral for a
final car show. Jerry also had a passion for hunting and
very much enjoyed fishing (especially with his
grandkids).
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Barbara Gates-Schamens
of Mukwonago; his daughter, Julie (Mark) Toole of
Genesee; son, Jason (Wendy) Schamens of Waukesha;
brother, Allen (Karen) Schamens of Waukesha;
stepchildren, Mike (Sue) Gates of Eagle and Matt
(Heather) of Watertown; and mother-inlaw, Dorothy Storms
of Waukesha. He will be greatly missed by his
grandchildren, Cameron, Austin, Ben, Steven, Jacob and
Sydney, and many other close friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and
Severa Schamens, and Geraldine Schamens.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the 4 p.m.
service Saturday, Sept. 29, at Kettle Moraine Community
Church, W351-S6480 Highway 59, North Prairie, WI 53153
(392-9000), with the Rev. Tom Hocking officiating. A
private burial will be held at Highland Memorial
Cemetery on Monday, Oct. 1.
